Il nostro progetto si rivolge a ragazzi e ragazze di strada per migliorare le loro condizioni di vita e si struttura in due aree:
Il lavoro di strada
I nostri Educatori di Strada seguono i ragazzi direttamente nei luoghi in cui vivono, li visitano quotidianamente, creano rapporti di amicizia e fiducia, dialogano, ascoltano e consigliano, li accompagnano in ospedale se ammalati o a rischio, organizzano attivitá che li distolgano dalla droga, li accompagnano a conoscere centri di accoglienza, riprendono i contatti con le loro famiglie, li aiutano ad iscriversi all’anagrafe e ad avere un documento d’identitá. Visitano e aiutano anche i ragazzi piú grandi che sono finiti in carcere.
La Casa-Famiglia Rayitos de Luz (Piccoli Raggi di Luce)
Accogliamo come figli un gruppo di 10 ragazzi offrendo un ambiente accogliente e amorevole.
Da noi trovano adulti che condividono tutto con loro, che hanno il tempo per dialogare e ascoltarli, che ne rispettano la volontá e libertá di scelta. Oltre gli educatori abbiamo una psicologa che aiuta i ragazzi e le loro famiglie attraverso terapie individuali e di gruppo, e un’assistente sociale che si occupa dei rapporti con la scuola, della salute dei ragazzi, delle visite alle famiglie.
Nella casa-famiglia si gioca, si studia, si fanno attivitá stimolanti (arte, manualitá, musica, danza), si mangia bene, ognuno ha il suo letto e i suoi vestiti e non mancano le medicine quando ci si ammala. I ragazzi piú grandi iniziano anche percorsi di orientamento e formazione professionale.
Cerchiamo di coinvolgere il piú possibile le famiglie, insegnando ai genitori ad essere padri e madri responsabili e affettuosi.
Ci sono anche momenti di festa e divertimento: compleanni, campeggi, gite alla spiaggia, incontri con gli amici e le famiglie dei ragazzi. A volte organizziamo un mercatino per vendere gli oggetti realizzati dai ragazzi nei laboratori e con il ricavato compriamo qualcosa per la casa.

Our project is aimed to improve the conditions of those kids living in the street and is divided in two areas:
Assistance in the street
Our educators take care of them personally. They daily visit them, establishe friendships and trusted relationships, speak with them, listen to them, give advice and take them to the hospital if someone is ill or at risk, organize activities to keep them away from the use and abuse of drugs, get in touch with their families, help them to solve bureaucratic issues and to get the identity card (being minors, it often happens they don’t have it). They visit and help minors and older that are in jail.
Family-House called Rayitos de Luz (Rays of light)
We put up as our own children, a group of 10 teen-agers offering them a comforting and loving place. In our place they can find the right adults , who talk and listen to them, share everything with them and respect their wishes and freedom. With educators there is a psychologist to help them and their families thru individual or group therapy, and a social assistant who coordinates the scholastic issues, children’ health and the visits to their families.
In the house children play, study, practise different disciplines and arts, eat well and sleep in their own beds. Everyone has got their own clothes and medicines are available when needed. Grown-up teen-agers are also taught programs for their future professional formation.
It is also important to involve the families, too, and in this sense we educate parents to become more responsible towards their children.
Obviously we enjoy moments of entertainment : birthday parties, camping, days on the beach, meetings with friends and families. Sometimes we organize a small market to sell products that were hand-made by our kids, during their workshops. The money we collect in these occasions are spent to buy something necessary.
